The ethos of the trust is based on equality for all. The staff are there to support and encourage, not to supervise and have authority over the disabled Residents. In decision taking, Residents have counselling and support which, together with various experiences enables individuals to make informed choices. Consultation is standard practise but the final decision lies with the disabled Resident. The Trust has been recognised as continuing to meet the requirements of the national standard for effective INVESTMENT IN PEOPLE. The objective assessment of the Trust's work by INVESTORS IN PEOPLE is welcomed on a regular basis.
 Ashford Local Activities
A wide range of activities and social events are regularly organised, such as wine and cheese parties, pub lunches in the Ashford area, mobile cinema, card and board games, slide shows and many more. Occasionally we have talks by visiting speakers, exercise classes and bingo sessions.
Boldshaves Oast is well served by the visiting library. From time to time, Ashford community groups and staff provide entertainment for the residents. Birthdays of residents are always celebrated.
